Welcome to Crediton Third Age Group

Currently in the Crediton branch of the u3a we have about 300 members and many and varied groups which meet on a regular basis (weekly, fortnightly or monthly) with more groups in development. Click here Groups for more details.

We hope you find something of interest but if not, or if you have any ideas for other activities, we would love to hear from you. Contact the Groups Coordinator .

We have monthly meetings on the third Wednesday of each month starting at 10.00 am with  speakers covering a wide variety of topics of general interest  they are held at the Boniface Centre in Crediton. The cost is just £2.00 to attend and for that price you get a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits and an entertaining talk,  Visit the Events page to see the programme for the rest of the year.

Important Notification. Charity fraud investigation

We have been contacted by Surrey and Sussex police about a serious fraud they're investigating which is targeting people associated with charities for older people.

It seems fraudsters are using information available on the Charity Commission website to contact people. They have then been persuading them there is an issue with their bank account. One couple has already been defrauded out of a significant amount of money.

Please flag this with your members so they are aware. Banks and the police will never ask you to move money. Read about spotting fraud on the government Stop Think Fraud website.

For a list of next years talks go to the Events  page in this website

If you would like extra information on any of the current groups as to what they do or cover you can email the group leader of that group directly from that groups page. Up-to-date information is also available on our website: Crediton & District U3A: Events or Groups

Membership of the Crediton u3a costs £10 a year. For this you also get access to special interest groups. For information on the various groups check each one out via the Groups page. There is a sliding scale of cost depending on which part of our year you join.

Why not join us?

The committee

An organisation such as this needs a committee made up of people like you. Do consider joining the friendly team working ‘behind the scenes’. You are more than welcome to come along to a Committee Meeting to see what goes on. For more information please contact any member of the committee.

NB - our Third Age Group is a voluntary organisation. We try to answer emails, phone calls or letters as soon as possible, but sometimes there may be a delay.

Final NB - please fill in the Gift Aid form when you join. It won't cost you anything but it will deprive the Chancellor of a few bob and will substantially enhance our coffers to benefit all our members.
