Previous meals this year
September Meal: held at The Post House: after having to cancel Augusts meal due to lack of interest we move into September with a return to the Post House for its cavery type meal. This pub offers a choice of selecting 1, 2 or 3 different meats then adding to that your veg selection from a broad range of vegatables, potatoes, cabbage, peas, carrots, parsnips, red cabbage, cauliflower cheese and mashed swede. 10 of our members attended and all were well fed.
July Meal The London Inn Morchard Bishop. Not much of a surprise here, 12 members all enjoyed a very harty and filling meal, as usual the London Inn supplied its standard sized ( enormous ) meal, with plenty of sides to the meat options, once again the call at the end of the meal was for dogy bags to take home all the uneaten goddies on the table. Be warned this pub is certainly one where you do not order a starter if you want room for a desert after your main.
The June meal was held at The Ship Inn Crediton. This proved a popular place for the Sunday lunch group. The pub has had quite a big turn around over the last year and the newly decorated upstairs dining room is very pleasant. The 15 members who attended all had a very good standard Sunday lunch again with a choice of 3 different meats or Vegi option
The fourth lunch was at the New Inn Colford A reduced number attended but the 9 of us all had a good plated standard sunday lunch and we will be returning to this pub again in the future.
The third lunch was held at the Fox and Hounds out at Eggesford This is a country type hotel and the meal was a help yourself carvery type. 12 members attended and all were quite pleased at the selection on offer of choice of 3 meats with all the normal sides (including Pigs in Blankets).
The second lunch was supposed to be held at the post house at Whiddon down but had to be cancelled due to poor support.

The First Lunch of the year was held at "The Rose and Crown out at Sanford. 19 members attended and were treated to the (as always) excellent meals provided by this pub, the selection was between a standard roast (with a selection of beef, pork or gammon or all three) or Chicken in leek sauce. The veg mix included sprouts, peas, carrots, swede and cauliflower cheese. All left feeling very well fed.
